CRAIG HANN
MANAGING DIRECTOR/CTO

After spending the 90’s in corporate I.T and dot-com startups, Craig began his career in broadcast in 2001 as an early member of Celador Interational’s team designing systems for their portfolio of shows including “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” and “Winning Lines”. Developing his craft across the next two decades, Craig designed and built systems for shows such as “Pointless”, “A League Of Their Own”, “Test The Nation”, “Fifteen To One” and “Five Minutes To A Fortune” while working with Cat And Mouse and later by freelancing for SJL Media, Ionoco and servicing regional entertainment productions through his own company, Qoobit

When not managing the day-to-day running of the business, Craig’s additional role of CTO allows him to lead the technical and strategic direction of the company. Craig invests a great deal of his time in finding and then evangelising creative and innovative ways to apply technology to help format creators and producers bring their shows to life.

JOE STYLES
CREATIVE DIRECTOR/CFO

Joe started his career working in conference event support in the UK and internationally. He then went on to develop his creative and design skills at Cat and Mouse as a Senior Realtime Graphics programmer working with the high end 3D graphics program Ventuz. In this role he created the real time graphics systems for a variety of shows including “A Question of Sport”, “Who Want to be a Millionaire”, “European Poker Tour” and BBC Wales’ Election coverage.

Joe’s broad experience over a variety of media from broadcast graphics to touchscreen systems and digital signage means he is instrumental in leading Kinetic Pixel’s creative and graphical solutions, making him one of the world’s leading experts on applying Ventuz within the Light Entertainment business.

NATHAN BARNES
OPERATIONS MANAGER

Nathan began his career as a Manufacturing Engineer in 1990 working for a world-wide blue-chip electronics manufacturer. He moved into entertainment in 2001 when he joined Celador International and was an instrumental part of the world-wide rollout of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?”. In recent years he has been responsible for the planning and delivery of computer systems for many prestigious quiz and light entertainment formats across the globe for Ionoco.

Nathan’s role as Operations Manager gives him responsibility for the day-to-day scheduling, resourcing and delivery of our projects. He also takes charge of internal processes and systems to ensure that our resources are used as productively and efficiently as possible.

GETHIN DAVIES
TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER

Gethin began his career in broadcasting in 2001 as a machine room engineer at a Post Production house and quickly developed his skills as an Engineer, Editor and Graphics Operator. In 2013 Gethin joined Microsoft as part of the engineering team designing and deploying SkypeTX to broadcasters around the world.

As well as defining and managing the implementation of many key projects, Gethin’s role means he is leading Kinetic Pixel’s engineering solutions, specifying and sourcing equipment and defining best practice for our team of technicians. His years of technical and engineering experience is put to best use solving tough technical challenges for our most complex shows.

MATT PAYNE
PROJECT MANAGER

Matt has been working in the broadcast and entertainment industries for over 15 years, starting in 2001 working on the BAFTA Award-winning “So Graham Norton” as a graphics operator and designer. He’s since mastered a multitude of graphics play-out platforms on some of the biggest shows on television including Comic Relief, The Commonwealth Games and The Paul O’Grady Show.

Since joining Kinetic Pixel in 2013, Matt has taken on day-to-day responsibility for some of our most prestigious shows, including Pointless, Fifteen To One and Richard Osman’s House of Games, and has project managed numerous pilots and shows including Insert Name Here, Debatable, Tenable and Safe Word from his London base.

GARETH JONES
SENIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

Gareth graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Computer Games Programming from Leicester DeMontfort University in 2014, and began his career as a technical specialist for Leicestershire County Council. After a year, he began pursuing his vocational goals and set up Sonar Systems, developing mobile games using Unity, Unreal Engine and Cocos2D.

Gareth’s role as Senior Developer means that along side working to implement graphic designs and control mechanics, he manages the implementation of new features from our technology roadmap for integration and testing into our Game Engine and core libraries.

CONNOR DAVIES
SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

Connor completed a Computing Mathematics degree at the University of South Wales in 2014. He studied the mathematics of cryptography, and programmatically decoded WWII codes such as those enciphered by Enigma machines. He is also a keen gamer, having designed a handful of mobile games, and helping local coordinators to run gaming and game development events across South Wales.

Connor’s role at Kinetic Pixel is as a full-stack developer, putting together control mechanics for show systems, and making major advances in our cross-platform browser based solutions for information displays, contestant consoles and question management.

CAMERON FISH
JUNIOR TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER

Cameron joins Kinetic Pixel having graduated from Cardiff University in 2017 with a First Class Honours degree in Computer Science. Cameron studied digital forensics and cryptology and focused his dissertation on developing encryption protocols to be deployed on micro-controller hardware. His expertise with embedded platforms such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi is instrumental to future developments of Kinetic Pixel’s range of services.

Cameron’s versatile skill set sees him taking responsibility for the planning and implementation of many of our projects, working as a Systems Operator on a number of our shows and troubleshooting technical and engineering problems. His contribution to shows such as Who Wants to be a Millionaire, There’s Something About Movies and A League of their Own ensures our shows are rolled out smoothly and well supported during the studio production.

JAMIE-RHYS EDWARDS
JUNIOR SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN

Jamie studied for a BA in Technical Theatre Practice at Trinity St. Davids, Swansea. After graduating in 2018 he took on freelance roles as a Lighting Technician, Sound Engineer and Stage Manager for clients as diverse as the National Theatre Wales, Volvo, Nandos and numerous small theatre productions.

Jamie’s passion for the technical aspects of events, television and theatre led him to Kinetic Pixel, where he is developing his skill set through practical exposure to broadcast engineering, studio craft and our first-class show control and graphics systems. Since joining the team in 2019, he has already proven a valuable member of the team on a number of pilots and productions including Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, Pointless and Only Connect.

GEMMA HANN
OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

Gemma has spent her career working in accounts receivable and payable departments within the public sector, and in recent years in customer facing and administrative roles with SMEs.

Gemma’s part time role gives her responsibility for the daily accounts and book-keeping and she is the first point of contact for all general administrative enquiries.
