CRAIG HANN
MANAGING DIRECTOR

After spending the 90’s in corporate I.T and dot-com startups, Craig began his career in broadcast in 2001 as an early member of Celador Interational’s team designing systems for their portfolio of shows including “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” and “Winning Lines”. Developing his craft across the next two decades, Craig designed and built systems for shows such as “Pointless”, “A League Of Their Own”, “Test The Nation”, BBC Wales Elections, “Fifteen To One” and “Five Minutes To A Fortune” while working with Cat And Mouse and later freelancing for SJL Media and Ionoco.

Alongside his Managing Director responsibilities, Craig’s role within Kinetic Pixel allows him to lead the technical and strategic direction of the company. Craig invests a great deal of his time in finding and then evangelising creative and innovative ways to apply technology to help format creators and producers bring their shows to life.

JOE STYLES
CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Joe started his career working in conference event support in the UK and internationally. He then went on to develop his creative and design skills at Cat and Mouse as a Senior Realtime Graphics programmer working with the high end 3D graphics program Ventuz. In this role he created the real time graphics systems for a variety of shows including “A Question of Sport”, “Who Want to be a Millionaire”, “European Poker Tour” and BBC Wales’ Election coverage.

Joe’s broad experience over a variety of media from broadcast graphics to touchscreen systems and digital signage means he is instrumental in leading Kinetic Pixel’s creative and graphical solutions, making him one of the world’s leading experts on applying Ventuz within the Light Entertainment business.

NATHAN BARNES
OPERATIONS MANAGER

Nathan began his career as a Manufacturing Engineer in 1990 working for a world-wide blue-chip electronics manufacturer. He moved into entertainment in 2001 when he joined Celador International and was an instrumental part of the world-wide rollout of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?”. In recent years he has been responsible for the planning and delivery of computer systems for many prestigious quiz and light entertainment formats across the globe for Ionoco.

Nathan’s role as Operations Manager gives him responsibility for the day-to-day scheduling, resourcing and delivery of our projects. He also takes charge of internal processes and systems to ensure that our resources are used as productively and efficiently as possible.

GETHIN DAVIES
SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Gethin began his career in broadcasting in 2001 as a machine room engineer at a Post Production house and quickly developed his skills as an Engineer, Editor and Graphics Operator. In 2013 Gethin joined Microsoft as part of the engineering team designing and deploying SkypeTX to broadcasters around the world.

Gethin’s role means he is leading Kinetic Pixel’s engineering solutions, specifying and sourcing equipment and defining best practice for our team of technicians. His years of technical and engineering experience is put to best use solving tough technical challenges for shows such as Five Gold Rings and The Boss.

MATT PAYNE
PROJECT MANAGER

Matt has been working in the broadcast and entertainment industries for over 10 years, starting in 2001 working on the BAFTA Award-winning “So Graham Norton” as a graphics operator and designer. He’s since mastered a multitude of graphics play-out platforms on some of the biggest shows on television including Comic Relief, The Commonwealth Games and The Paul O’Grady Show.

Since joining Kinetic Pixel in 2013, Matt has taken on day-to-day responsibility for some of our most prestigious shows, including Pointless and Fifteen To One, and has project managed numerous pilots and shows including Insert Name Here, Debatable, Tenable and Safe Word from his London base.

GARETH JONES
SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

Gareth graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Computer Games Programming from Leicester DeMontfort University in 2014, and began his career as a technical specialist for Leicestershire County Council. After a year, he began pursuing his vocational goals and set up Sonar Systems, developing mobile games using Unity, Unreal Engine and Cocos2D.

Gareth’s role at Kinetic Pixel is as a full-stack developer, working to implement graphic designs and control mechanics for shows including Tenable, the Loteri Cymru weekly draw and Debatable.

CIARAN HARTY
SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

In 2016 Ciaran completed a Masters degree in Computer Game Development at the University of South Wales. During his final year he was part of the four-man Team Sapient, competing in the Games category of Microsoft’s Imagine Cup. His team made history by becoming the first UK team to make it to the Imagine Cup World Finals in the Games category.

Ciaran’s role at Kinetic Pixel is as a full-stack developer, working to implement graphic designs using Ventuz and developing control mechanics and embedded systems using the Raspberry Pi and Arduino platforms for shows such as Countdown.

CAMERON FISH
SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN

Cameron joins Kinetic Pixel having graduated from Cardiff University in 2017 with a First Class Honours degree in Computer Science. Cameron studied digital forensics and cryptology and focused his dissertation on developing encryption protocols to be deployed on micro-controller hardware. His expertise with embedded platforms such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi will be instrumental in future developments of Kinetic Pixel’s range of services.

Cameron’s mix of electronics and programming skills and his enthusiastic approach to learning the detail of broadcast engineering makes him a valuable new member of the team who has already seen his efforts on air working on the Urrd Eisteddfod, Sing : Ultimate A Capella, Guess The Star and The Hour.

GEMMA HANN
OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

Gemma has spent her career working in accounts receivable and payable departments within the public sector, and in recent years in customer facing and administrative roles with SMEs.

Gemma’s part time role gives her responsibility for the daily accounts and book-keeping and she is the first point of contact for all general administrative enquiries.
