Skype TX Manufacturing partners announced

Skype have today announced the OEM hardware partners they’ll be working with to deliver the Skype TX technology. NewTek in the USA have launched their ‘Talkshow’ product, Reidel, a German manufacturer have yet to unveil their hardware, and the partner in the UK is Quicklink, who have announced their Quicklink TX 1RU product.

Our contacts tell us the units should start shipping in early November, with a unit price of around $4000 USD.

Having channels available to purchase the equipment is great, and we’re sure that this will be the start of seeing Skype TX in every gallery and OB truck across the world – but that’s only half the story. Kinetic Pixel, as partners on the Skype TX Technology Adoption Programme, have had access to the Skype TX technology for months, giving us the opportunity to work closely with Microsoft.

Our staff have been trained on the system by Microsoft’s engineers, and also we’ve been able to feed back bug reports, change requests and use cases.

This means that Kinetic Pixel already have the real-world experience of using Skype TX on many productions, and can apply that experience to make sure your investment in this new platform can be supported fully – from installation to support, automation and configuration.

We’ve got prototype units in stock available for hire throughout October – earlier than the production units will ship. If you’re considering investing in Skype TX, we can make sure you get the best out of the platform.
