Software Developer

Kinetic Pixel are a broadcast technology company specialising in supplying real-time graphics, studio automation and audience interaction systems for Television and Live events.  If you’ve got a TV you’ll know at least some of our shows; 5 Gold Rings, Pointless, A League Of Their Own, Only Connect, Insert Name Here and Fifteen To One, to name just a few.

We’re the glue that holds these shows together. It’s our technology behind the scenes that tracks the scores, shows the questions, sounds the buzzers and fires the time up klaxons!

We’re currently looking for a talented, versatile and enthusiastic .NET developer to join our small team. The right candidate will have strong analytical and development skills, coupled with an interest in new technology and a desire to deliver pragmatic, reliable code to bring some of the world’s biggest Light Entertainment and Game shows to life.

Responsibilities and Description of Role

You’ll be able to quickly comprehend complex issues and propose solutions, and work closely with the creative teams from production and graphic design to help deliver their vision.
You’ll need to be prepared to travel, and sometimes work unusual hours – TV doesn’t always get made between 9 to 5 Monday to Friday. We work in locations across the UK and the world, from Birmingham to the Bahamas, so a full UK driving licence and a valid passport are essential. As well as writing code, you’ll be expected to pitch in and assist with installing and testing computer and video equipment during the rig and rehearsals of a show.

In return for all this, we can offer a competitive salary, the freedom to work with cutting edge technology such as gesture control systems, giant touchscreens, real-time multi-screen graphic systems and revolutionary video calling solutions. You’ll be joining an exciting and fast-moving business, so it’s an opportunity to grow the role as the company grows. You’ll be working in one of the most exciting and fast-moving industries in the world, getting to see the finest formats from their inception to production, and then sit back in your front-row seat and see your work play out in front of an audience of millions.
