Guess The Star

Jonathan Ross hosts the one-off game show Guess The Star, airing over Christmas 2017. Jonathan is joined by three celebrity teams, Team Diversity, Jordan Banjo, Perri Kiely and Sam Craske, Team Coronation Street, Anthony Cotton, Catherine Tyldesley and Sally Dynevor and Team Daytime Eamonn Holmes, Stacey Solomon, Judge Rinder who will be competing against each other to try and guess the famous face hidden under the guises.  Well known stars are transformed and perform as their favourite pop or music star as the three celebrity teams are challenged to Guess The Star behind the disguise.

The celebrity teams use their iPads to write down their guess as the performance plays out on stage.  The faster they lock in their answer, the more points they are likely to score.  The scores are shown on the “Star Bar”, a countdown timer highlighting how quickly the teams locked in their answer.   Once the performance is finished, the teams and the audience get to see the performer transformed into their normal self, and we find out what each team has answered and if they were correct.

Kinetic Pixel’s telestration systems allowed quick handwriting input for each of the teams.  Our software ‘reads’ their handwriting, and automatically locks in that answer, and makes the handwritten version available on information screens in the gallery and also for presentation on our graphics, overlaid onto the large LED walls on set.

Once the performer has been revealed, our systems can recall the scores, timings and handwriting, which are used to reveal each team’s score. Their scores build up to a final leaderboard reveal to show the winning team.
