Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution Day is a campaign to get kids cooking, and aware of healthier eating. KPX rolled out two channels of Microsoft’s Skype broadcast system so that Jamie could talk to schools around the country without the production incurring the expense of an OB crew in each location.
KPX were at the outside broadcast from City Hall, London, supplying technical crew and equipment enabling the Skype calls to be ingested straight into the switcher and cut to air with no extra hardware such as scan converters, downscalers or embedders.
The event was a record-breaking success, with over 9000 schools taking part, and the world record for “biggest cooking lesson” broken and recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records.
“Needless to say, it was an epic day and in no small part due to Kinetic Pixel” – Louisa James, JamieOliver.com
