Relatively Clever

Starting in April 2015 as part of Sky One’s 8PM entertainment strand, Relatively Clever is a new quiz series that pits families against each other in knockout rounds. It’s a test of intelligence and general knowledge but family dynamics will also come under the spotlight as mums, dads, children and grandparents come together to compete for the ‘Relatively Clever’ trophy.

Kinetic Pixel worked closely with the team at John Stanley Productions from very early on in the development of the format, designing and supplying systems for the run-throughs and initial pilot, and then on to the full series commission in the autumn of 2014.

Our systems powered the studio displays and broadcast graphics, which involved some sophisticated multi-stage graphic reveals for the puzzle questions.  Kinetic Pixel also created automation systems to run the 8 on-set buzzers, sound effects and lighting integration and the wireless information screens used by the host in both the upstage and downstage positions.

The team delivered 3-4 shows a day, working to a very rigid schedule because there were minors on set who require regular breaks. This meant the efficiency of the question management, gameplay systems and easy rig and strike of the podiums were key factors to ensuring the studio schedule ran to time.
